On the Daily

What is your morning routine like?

There are some things we do every day, for a lot of reasons. Some of our daily habits we have to do and some we do because they bring us joy.

One thing I can’t go a day without is my daily devotional. There’s breakfast food and there’s spiritual food. Coffee gets you up and gets you going, just as reading gets your heart and mind focused on a positive start to your day.

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

And I. am. not! Feelings come and go, stress gets to us.. But throughout all of that, my devotional keeps me grounded. When I don’t know what to pray, I open it up. When I want to start my day off on the right foot, I peek at a page. When I’ve had a crazy day and missed it in the morning, I read it at night. It only takes a few minutes and it always gives me peace, inspiration, joy, or a new perspective on something that’s going on in my life. It leads me to a meaningful Bible verse and brings my relationship closer to Christ!

I’m so thankful for these authors that wrote a few of my favorite devotionals:

⁃ Sarah Young, Jesus Calling and Jesus Always

⁃ Max Lucado, Everyday Blessings and Grace for the Moment

⁃ Natalie Grant & Charlotte Gambill, Dare to be Devoted

⁃ Sheri Rose Shepherd, His Princess

Here I am in Capital Reef National Park reading Dare to be Devoted.  I wish I had this kind of view every morning.  I love to travel.

Thank you so much for sharing this journey with me!

Blessings,
Meg

  1. Such a good habit to get into! I was gifted a book called Pressing Pause – 100 quiet moments for Moms to Meet with Jesus by Karen Ehman & Ruth Schwenk. There’s a journaling component as well. This post has inspired me to dive in! Thanks Megs!
